What is the compliant method to add a PDF file to a otherwise compliant DVDR?

I have folders VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders. I thought about putting the PDF file in the root structure of the disk, but I think (although not postive) that this confuses my standalong player. (It tells me content not availiable... it scrolls through various titles, chapters, then works just fine.)

Perhaps I should create a folder like Disregard_TS or something? Is there an already pre-defined folder name for simple data file types (like PDF's)

BTW: the pdf would be accessed by a PC, (has nothing to do with the "authoring" of the DVDr)

    Thanks for the help!

Make sure you have VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folderson your DVD. I beleive the standard is to use capitals. The AUDIO_TS is usually empty.

You can then create any other folders you like at the root level. Your stand alone DVD player won't see them.

What I tend to do is create the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders plus a SOURCE directory which stores the original film footage.

In your case, simply create a folder called PDF (or Disregard_TS if you prefer) and throw your files in it.

  3. Like Ironballs stated, you can put anything on your disc as long as the VIDEO_TS folder contains your authored files (IFOs, BUPs and VOBs) ONLY and the AUDIO_TS folder is empty.

You can put the PDF (or any other files) on the root of the disc or in another folder created OUTSIDE the VIDEO_TS & AUDIO_TS folders.

    Great!

I will try creating a folder and putting the PDF in it. BTW: I already tried this with the PDF in the root (without any folder) and for some reason the standalone player caughed at the idea.

I will TRY something like creating folder "OTHER_STUFF" and see how the player works.

You think this will work? i'll let ya know

    Thanks Mate!

Ahh, say... you said you would eat it? I have a few extra disks that went through the microwave (with some other stuff) let me know if you are hungry.
