    Video mode = PAL
    field encoding = progressive
    frame rate = 25

    then do this:

    encode at

    Video mode = NTSC
    field encoding = progressive
    frame rate = 23.97

then use restream or pulldown.exe (with GUI) and change frame rate to 25 progressive and frame size to 480 x 576 (works ON most players)

pulldown will recalculate the timecode - i dont know if restream will

couple of things to watch out for or to improve things

if you select mpeg2 instead of DVD , you can also change the size to 480x576 (and even letter box etc) .
but follow the above for the rest.

make the GOP size a max of 12 (instead of ntsc 15)

  5. I kinda did what u said...
    Well i didnt!
I found a program called avi frame rate converter.
I ripped the audio toa wav file usin virtualdub
i changed the fram rate with aviframeratechanger to 25
then edited the wav file to be the same length as the video
Now i just need to put them together, do i use VDUB to save as avi then mainconcept?
I put audio and video into mainconcept but still there was a very very very slight audio sync problem, but maybe i selcted the wrong stream type...I used Program Video+Audio
    or is it transport video+audio?
    Thanks

it would be program video plus audio ...

i thought you didnt want to go through a extra step ... if you were willing to - i would have told you to just use the frame rate changer in V-dub and it works perfect.. i then use vegas and re-sync audio ...

  7. I didnt but guessed id have too!
Well now im tryign to joing the two and its going out of sync using mainconcept just cant win
The only way i think is to save as an AVI file in Vdub Then use mainconcept!

  8. Heres the way i now think is best to do it :

    1. Open AVI Frame Rate Changer and open file, change FPS to 25
    2. Open Vdub and open video file save sound as WAV then check File Info

For EXACT time of movie in seconds.
    3. Open Goldwave and open WAV file Click time warp and enter exact time of

movie which was earlier wrote down in seconds and click convert.
    4. Using VDUB Open video file and selct audio as the new wav just created

    then click save as AVI
    5. Use mainconcept to Turn just created AVI into MPEG2
    Hey presto!

how about the way i do it ...

open file in v-dub or use avsynth and change rate to 25.

frame serve to main concept ..

    save wav.
use vegas or soundforge to sync audio with new video stream (both will open audio and video)

goldwave i think to do same thing is possable .. but with , for example, vegas. yo just hit control button and drag audio till it matches lenth of video and then create a new ac3 file (if for dvd) or mpg audio file if for svcd ... it takes like 2 seconds ..

    read this first https://www.videohelp.com/virtualdubframeserve.htm

make sure you have frame serving properly installed and follow above guide and below instructions ... it is really very easy AND very quick.

    open your avi ,

    hit 'Control R'

source rate adjustment -> change to 25

    hit ok

    hit 'control F'

    add filters

    pick resize

either just change to 480x576 , filter mode lanczos3 OR

do a proper calcualtion of your aspect ratio and either letterbox it correct or an anamorphic squeeze .. see guides on this site .. (note - size change can be done in main concept also )

    close the filter thingie

File - ->>> start frame server

first window that pops up -> hit ok

second windows that pops up - name clip "video_frameserve.vdr"

    open main concept

drag "video_frameserve.vdr" and drop on Main Concept
