  1. Right, here it is...

I have a DVD movie. The menu for the movie is 1GB big(!), so i want to get rid of that menu and make my own basic menu which allows Chapter access. The menu that I want to create is from a Wallpaper image which has layers for buttons (in PSD format).

Here is what I know so far:

    1. I have ripped the main movie only from the DVD (ie. getting rid of the menu).

    2. I can import PSD images into DVD-Lab and use it as a menu.

Now here is what I dont know.

    1. Which software I can use to "attach" a menu to the already existing DVD movie VOBS/IFOS.

    2. How to use DVD-Lab!... at all (ie. import video, sound, create menu's etc...) (there are no tutorials!)

Please help and advise or give alternative software ideas...

    Thanks.

Why would you want a menu anyways? All they do it take up space on the disc, no matter if it's the stock one, or one you made. This is what the "chapter forward" button is for!

  3. hi mate,

the thing is that the movies i am trying to backup are Bollywood movies (therfore 3 hours long!). I back them up to 2 discs anyway so size is not really a problem. What i need is a way of accessing certain scenes (especially specific songs). All Bollywood DVD's come with menu for Songs for this reason... so it is easy to navigate to them without having to skip through the whole movie!

  4. Hi spatel,
There are several guides in the "guides" section about dvd-lab that can explain this better than I can. They also suggest other tools for use with this tool.
    Hope that helps.

Use DVDshrink or DVDfab(last free version here http://www.mrbass.org) and do movie only. Then use the vobs in dvdlab as your movie and your psd file as your menu(import to asset bin) you can then manually enter chapter points. Help for DVD-Lab: http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/Help/index.htm
Tmpgenc DVD author would probably do this better using track menus , but the menus are crap and I dont think you can use a psd file and keep the layers.
Just shut up and listen dumbass
