Hi,
Just wondering what people find is the better MPEG2 (DVD) encoder in terms of picture quality: TMPGEnc or the Adobe Encoder (built into Premiere Pro and Encore DVD)?

Ditto.
I used the Adobe Media Encoder only a few times and realized that TMPGEnc is infinitely more customizeable. The one handy feature of the built-in one is that it puts GOP headers where you insert chapter points in Premiere so you'll get better chapter point placement in your DVD authoring app.
