  1. Got a Mpeg file 800 meg and need to re encode this movie so I can authorize it to DVD coz it pop up a error in authorizer resolution blah blah not a valid DVD file OK

    now the problem

open it in TMPGEnc and the famous bullshit error comes up "File Unsupported"

now I have a Xvid codec and a DIVx codec this is a MPEG anyway so i guess I'm screwed and download this for no reason......

  4. Can you play this file with media player?
Do you know if it is MPEG1 or MPEG2?

My guess is that if you can't play the file you don't have a MPEG2 codec (DivX etc are MPEG4 so will not work). There are ways round this. If you have a s/w DVD Player (maybe came with the drive) install it. If you can play the file you should be able to open it with TMPGEnc.
