    Hi

I am new but have been lurking in the forums for a while. I was hoping that the group could help me in this.

I have a number of AVI files that you need the XVID codec for to watch but now I want to compile the video files and put them on DVD?

What programs can I use to accomplish this so that the sound and video is synced and such. I have Tmpeg DVD author and access to a few other DVD production tools but I am not sure what has to be done to the AVI files first to make them compliant so everything works in the end.

    thanks

    Andrea

    DOESN'T work for me
as TMPGENC will not accept my XVID files,
claiming the demuxed file is not supported
(I made it myself with Premiere)
    also, I don't get a AC3 when I demux but a .mpa

Take "any" AVI to DVD guide - they aren't codec specific. ffdshow helps a lot in dealing with XviD video. XviD AVIs aren't more prone to sync issues than other AVIs, but those who do XviDs tend to use more exotic audio codecs and settings, sometimes giving encoders and editors a hard time.
