Valid format for menu items?

When using VCDComposer or I guess anything else that has VCDImager in the bottom, what are valid types of menu items??? Is it only still mpg's or is non-still mpg's valid aswell??? Can I use something other then mpg's like bmp's or something???

I've done some menus with WinOnCD and there it is possible to use bmp's but perhaps it converts the bmp
