I need to create a professional slideshow using high quality images. I have read some guides, but I am left confused. It says that I should crop images to a larger size than the DVD standard. Should I crop to 720x480 pixels in Photoshop or to another size? And if I crop to another size, won't the image be distorted as the video encoder shrinks it down to the right size? This will create images for a 4:3 TV right, but what should I crop to if I want to create a slideshow for widescreen TV? I am using Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and Adobe Premiere 6.0, 6.5, and Pro.
One last thing what should the DPI be set at when cropping?
