  1. I have been having sync problems with my finished VCD's...not the usual sync problems where the audio and video are out of sync throughout the whole movie but sync problems like for just a few seconds...the film will speed up or slow down but the audio remains at it's normal pace.

    This is what i'm doing...
I rip the dvd to my HD using smart ripper or DVD Decrypter, then use DVD2AVI.
From that point I encode the audio and video separately.
I then run my D2V project file thru the Vfapi reader so I can load it into Virtual Dub.
In Virtual Dub I load a couple of filters like Smart Resize and/or Xsharpen...sometimes i'll try different filters but I always get the same problem.
Then I start the frameserver and load it into Tmpg and start the encoding. After that I encode the audio and have tried using many different tools...but there has been no difference.

One more thing that i've noticed is that before I burn it out to a VCD, the Mpeg file plays fine on my computer.
I've converted DVD to VCD using many different methods but only this way of doing it have given me any problems.
So if anyone has any suggestions, ideas or answers, please let me know....thanks in advance.

If you use TMPG or toolame for audio encoding, select both video and audio source, make sure, the framerate is correct ans select "audio only". Otherwise TMPG is assuming the default or last used framerate and that may end with this sync problems.
