  1. I have a copy of this movie the was made on a philips dvdrecorder. I don't no what brand. The problem that I am having is this movie plays fine on my computer but on my standalone there is no audio the picture is there, just no sound. I took a look at the vob files on the disk and hey were all 481mb and I know regularly they would be .99gb. My stand alone is a Koss that I got on sale around Xmas at Sears. This Koss Plays everything so I thought. I s there a work around or a way that I can fix this movie so that it plays on my standalone.

  2. What software did you use to burn? I've been having a similiar problem and it's been pointed out to me that my audio might be in MP2 format and should be PCM or AC3 for my standalone player to play. I'll verify if that is really the case this weekend, but you might want to investigate your audio format as well.

  3. My audio is ac3 and I have tried Recordnow, Nero, InstantCopy7 and CdrWin to copy the disk. I think It could be the Hi-Val burner that I initially used to make the copy. I Will test again and I will let you know the results.

I use TMPGenc DVD Author then Nero to burn the resulting VIDEO_TS folder.

I found that there is a shortage of programmes that will work with the Philips VR format. TDA is probably the easiest and best .
