Not sure if this is in the right forumSorry if it's not.
My last 2 encodes have given me underflow errors when muxing together video and audio. This occurs in both TMPGEnc and bbMPEGand subsequently causes padding problems when trying to author in VCDEasy
![]()
What causes this error? Is it, Min bitrate too low, Max bitrate too high or am I completely off track here?
I know I'll have to encode them again, but that's a small price to pay if I get to the bottom of this problem.
Thanks

Most of us have experienced similar problems, I'd venture to guess.
Here's what works for me: If it's AVI to DVD, SVCD or VCD, always decompress the audio first in VirtualDub. You can save Wav and use that as source audio in the encoder.
For something like SVCD to DVD, I just convert the audio to mp2 or ac3 with ffmpegGUI, and TMPGEnc or bbMPEG never gets a chance to f**k it up. (I use both from time to time). I have a custom template for the m2v. The elementary streams only get multiplexed in the authoring program.
Someone more competent technically will have to answer why such problems occur. Hope I understood your question correctly. Good luck sorting it out.Pull! Bang! Darn!
