Hello
I cannot quite remember how I did this, but I think that I simply connected my Panasonic GS50 camera direct to my Video output scart connection. When playing the video it displayed on my camera and I recorded.
I am not completly sure. I am not at home at the moment so I cannot look at the doc that I used. However I certainly did it as I then put the output onto my PC and created a DVD from this.
I will add another post this evening to confirm how I did it.----Figured it out yet?

If your camera has VCR capabilities, it can. Check your manual or find one online.

I second that, it was all in my instructions. perhaps the key is VCR capabilities.
I have just checked online and my camera has Svideo and AV input and Output. As I remember more, i am sure this was what i used the SV and AV leads.
Check that your camera can do this. Here is the spec of mine so you know what you are looking for :

Maybe you can try a video capture card with s-video input to output your DV stuff to the computer for editing and maybe some speical effects added. And then use a PC to TV video converter to output the edited videos played from the PC screen to the TV. So you can use VCR to record the videos from TV.
Check out this company for various computer video products, http://www.amberycorp.com

hold on a minute, im confused. what exactly are you trying to do? if you want to hook your camera up to your vcr, just use the three rca plugs(red, yellow, white). your vcr cannot "capture" from the camera, but you can record onto the vcr using a vhs tape.
on the other hand, if you are trying to record video onto your camcorder, it needs to have an input. -
Mine (Panasonic 953) will do it. I have to put it in "VCR" mode (the non-camera mode) and use the analog inputs. I also happen to have to use the remote control to start the record as there is no way to start the recording process without it.
