  1. ...because I'm lost when it comes to trying to make a CD that can be played in my Playstation 2. I'm trying to get a .mpg file onto a CD, so I can watch it in PS2. But I don't know if I have to convert it at all first :/ Do I have to change it over to .avi in order for it to be playable (as the guide says PS2 can only play CD-R in DivX format)

Then do I need to do anything special when burning it to CD? Or do I just burn the file to disc, and I'm good to go?

    - Thanks much in advance!

  2. I don't have a ps2 but i think that you cannot play burnt movies without a chip. The only way would to get a chip and burn movie files as a dvd, the ps2 doesn't accept vcd format or others. hope this helps

My standard PS2 will play a backed up DVD. The only way would be to convert your MPG file to DVD Compliant MPG and burn to DVD .
But it doesnt look like you have a DVD Burner.

You have to find the ps2 mediaplayer try looking at ps2newz.net, ps2ownz.com, or cdrom-guide.com ps2 forums for more info.

It will work but you will need a modchip or swap magic disk to make the divx movies work on a cd-r.
