Since i upgrade by PC with Win XP, my conversion process fails everytime i try to do it. When making SVCD i usually use Virtualdub 14d(because i need subtitle filter) to frameserve to CC2250. Now, with XP when i try to open VDR pointer (created with Virtualdub) CCE crashes (Windows good looking GPF). Evrything works fine with TmpegEnc (but i think CCE produces better video quality).
Can anybody help me with this or need i to downgrade to W98SE ?
Thanks to all

Hi,
Did you include audio, .wav in VirtualDub?
Try it, but do not process audio in CCE since the quality is not so good.

Hi chjan,
I usually include WAV from DVD2AVI (when saving project) in CCE because i do my movie one part at a time. I frameserve it with Virtualdub and cut it when encoding with CCE telling CCE what start frame and end frame. This way everything works fine for me (no out of sync, for instance). This way i cut it were i want instead of cut it later with bbMPEG when multiplexing and another reason is that i don't know how to encode part of a film (.mpv) and then encode just audio (.mpa) of that part of the film. Say for instance, how to encode audio from frame 10000 to frame 15000, since i've already my mpv file starting and ending on that interval?
I don't rebember any other way to cut my audio according to my cutted video.
Any help or tip would be nice
Thanks -
I can not help you with WinXP, but with the seperate audio encoding.
Let's say, you set the encode range from frame #10000 to #15000 with CCE. CCE will encode #10000-14999.
Decode and downsample the audio with your favorite tools.
Then use TMPG with toolame as external MPEG-1 Layer-2 encoder. Select the .d2v as video source (to avoid sync problems), the wav file as audio source.
Stream type is still "system".
Go to settings> advanced tab> source range, set start frame 10000 and end frame 14999, hit OK.
Go to the audio tab, configure and hit OK.
Set stream type to "audio only" and start encoding. -

I had the same frameserve problem with CCE 2.50, virtual dub 1.4.7 and XP. My CCE would not work with my old 500hz CPU..but I recently upgraded to a 900. Straight conversion works but not framserving through virtual dub....If you get an answer from another source...please let us know...many thanks -
Oviously there are problems with winXP and VirtualDub 1.47.
Try to frameserve with VirtualDub 1.4d or Avisynth. -
I found the problem.
Look for Windows 2000 CD and find APCOMPAT.EXE file, then every time you need to open a VDR file use APCOMPAT to run CCE250. Put your CCE exe in "start the following program", check "Windows NT 4 SP5" and check also "Disable Heap Menager on Windows 2000" and voilá... CCE is able to read your VDR file.
