  1. I do not know what is happening to me.

Growing up my parents played classical music, which made my ears bleed.

The past few months I can not get ENOUGH of the stuff.

Help !!!! I am only 23, is this the beginning of the end for me ?

I've listened to classical whenever I'm in the mood for it since high school, and I didn't even have an infulence of it through my parents. Nothing to see here really, maybe you'll be one of the few people your age that realizes that almost any music has redeeming value and doesn't sit around chat rooms making fun of others taste.

  7. I prescribe a dose of heavy metal. One hour a day, repeat as required.

23 is too young to look seriously at a pipe for tobacco.

    Russ,
Classical? Not to worry. Now ...if you suddenly developed an overwhelming desire to listen to rap, that's cause for concern
A young, white (presumably) british man has no business grasping one's genitalia in public, changing his name to "Scratchmaster", and using terms like "ho", and "word up, ghetto dawg". With classical, the worst that can happen is you develop a fondness for brandy, start reading the London Times, and vote conservative You'll be the most mature 23-year-old in the british isles.

All kidding aside, you're probably ready for new music. Nothing wrong with that. I took classical piano lessons for 8 years when I was growing up and I didn't have much choice. It had the opposite effect on me ...I never listen to classical and probably will always listen to rock n roll way too loud Different strokes ....Enjoy. There's a lot of classical stuff out there and plenty of it on the radio too.

  11. Just listen to Metallica's S & M album. That way you get to listen to heavy metal and symphony at the same time without being criticised.

Nothing wrong with listening to classical music. I listen to every type of music from all age groups. Like Flaystus said, you find that most music has some redeeming values.

What's wrong with RAP music. I think it is ignorant to say that about rap. You are making it sound like every white male is a wigga if he or she listens to rap. Rap is the most popular music in right now, atleast in the US.

And he is not freaking 80 years old, he should not be sitting at home by himslef and drinking brandy. He should be shaking like a paloroid picture in some club to Hey Ya.

Face it, music is subjective to the listener. I hate 99% of rap. I hate 100% of country. I have 99% of New Age, Celtic, type music. I hate 90% of Rock music released now-a-days. It all have to do with the individual. That being said the greatest band in the world would have to be The Rentals

That's what I am saying. If a person does not like some kinds of music, it doesn't mean that it sucks. PPL have to be objective to these kind of things.

  17. I listen to both rock and rap, depending on my mood. Mostly I listen to rock - I have Guns and Roses - Sweet Child 'O Mine on just now. That's classical music!

Thanks, Will - that sig is just one of my weird thoughts. Perhaps LordSmurf could shed some light on it!

I wouldn't panic until you start listening to New Age music. When I catch you making positive references to Yanni, then I'll start to worry 'cause you'll be as fucked up as me.

If it plays on DirecTV channel 838, it's fair game. And yes, that would include Kenny G. But I much prefer acoustical piano: George Winston, Robin Miller and such.

But right now it's Metallica's "Hero of the Day" for my musical needs.
