    Best resolution to capture?

    Best resolution and bitrate (min,average,max) to convert?

    My capture card is a Asus Radeon 9600XT, my VHS player is a Sony SLV E-820 (I think that's the reference )

    Greetings.

    You need to verify if your card has any capture drivers compatible with VirtualDub, or if the card came with any capture software.

    As for the VCR, I could'nt find any specs on the outputs that it has, so it need to be compatible with your card's inputs(S-VHS and Composite).

    I just ask what resolution and what bitrate, don't worry whit my hardware.

    I'm capturing whit Virtualdub, converting whit TMPGEnc, just wanna now what's the best resolution to use in Virtualdub, and best resolution and bitrate to use in the conversions on TMPGEnc.

    Tu put the must minutes of video on a DVD whithout loosing quality.

    Hi, as you're capturing from VHS (lower resolution when compared to SVCD, let alone DVD) you might want to check this out:
