    if i m watching a dvd movie in my pc.... how can i record the same in mpeg format with audio as well

    Why degrade the quality capturing when you have the DVD already? Better to extract the video with something like DVD decrypter.

    but what if I want to capture and record the same while playing


    one more question

    if i have a tv tuner card and watching a cable tv channel like national geographic and i want to record some particular program like mission mars

    then how can i do this ??

    You can capture with a tv tuner card if that's what you mean. I'm not sure how to capture one channel while viewing another all on the PC, and not even sure it would be a good idea even if you could. Unless you got a really fast PC that's probably a bad plan. As for Mission to Mars, isn't that one on DVD already? Not really worth the effort to capture something that's already available on DVD.
