  1. I know this might have been asked, however which capture card should I look at?????????

    My machine:
    Intel P3 450mhz
    128 mb Ram
    Win98 SE

    My wants:
    Able to capture home movies (from 8mm camera)and then burn onto cd as svcd
    Able to capture TV and then burn as svcd

    Any ideas??????

    How fast is your harddrive?
    An AVI capture card requires a fairly fast drive but is more forgiving on the CPU.

    For your machine - 'slow CPU' a 'realtime' MJPEG, MPEG card such as Studio DC10+ or for a little more $$$ the Matrox 450eTV , ATI All in Wonder with MPEG2 may work.

    I have used the studio DC10 and found it to be satisfactory.
