  1. Just got a ATI RAGE All In Wonder from a friend, but I don't have any software to do capturing. So what's a good program that I can use to capture to MPEG-1?

Head over to the ATI website, www.ati.com and download the Multi-Media Center (MMC). You'll need to know more information about your new card than you provided. But once you have all the information, you can download the proper version of MMC. That software will allow you to capture.

Back in the days of my ATI Radeon 64mb ViVo I used nothing but Virtualdub for analogue > avi captures.
    Flawless, and it's free.

  4. Possibly Virtual VCR in combination with a good MJPEG codec (PICVideo).

(Personally, I just tossed an old AIW 128 AGP with 32Mb and went with a Hauppauge PCI card instead.)
