  1. I have recently started burning mpeg2 onto dvd, have had alot of coasters recently. I use TMPGENC Author to create a Video_ts file, Nero to burn it, but even though it comes up burning successfull, when i put it into my DVD player it cannot find a disk.

    Can anyone help please

    Hi
I have had the same problem with Nero 6. So I just use the burn software included in TMPG DVD Author and everything is workin great.

The burn engine only works for WinXP/2000.

  5. perhaps this is the answer to my question..
when i burn to a dvd-r using nero it gives me this message about it being a multi-session disk and how it might not play on dvd-roms unless using xp..then it asks me if i want to continue anyways burning the multisession or continue without multisession. It burns the dvd-rw without any questions. I'm afraid of picking the wrong option and ending up with a coaster.

  6. what version of Nero are you using and what settings are you buring under? to test use IMG Tools classic to make an ISO image and burn it with DVD Decryptor ISO Write tool. however you may have a problem with a 4 GB file size limit on older OSs. your image would have to be less than 4 GB.

  7. I'm using nero 5.10.??.?
I use the wizard and tell it i'm burning a dvd (video dvd) and I copy all the files from the video_ts folder on the hard drive to the video_ts folder on the dvd-video template that nero uses. Then when i go to burn it it tells me it's a multi-session and it might not play on dvd-roms unless they are under xp. The thing is this is EXACTLY how i burn the dvd-rw's and it just starts burning without the multisession warning...I'm afraid to go on because i don't want a coaster..i've only got 5 dvd-r's right now

  8. DVD Video requires finalization on write-once media to play on standalone players

  9. that must be it!
I suppose I don't have the finalize disc option set when I go to burn it...

    thanks!

  10. well i got nero to burn the dvd-r and it plays fine on my pioneer dvd player but when i brought it to my parents house it only worked on my sisters symphonic tv/dvd combo..it wouldn't work on their new toshiba or the older apex ...so I suppose it could be 1 of 2 things...
    1) the way the dvd gets burned just isn't recognized by some players..i suppose using the burn util that comes with TDA should remedy this???
    2) the quality of the dvd-r's I'm using..they are samsung

Any additional input would be mucho appreciated..The toshiba comes up and says DVD after scanning but doesn't ever start..the apex just says disc error. This is my first dvd-r upset..not really a coaster since i can still use it on MY dvd player but still an upset.
