This program probably blows chunks but has anyone seen it?
    Does it handle IMAGES?

    Real Experience:
backing up 4.6 gig of files ROXIO says..DISC COMPLETED...
when checking in the folders burned, it was discovered that any data deeper than 5 directories deep was discarded, tho' all the folders themselves were written..A re burn of the same job with NERO caught numerous files that would need to be renamed (long filename probs) but otherwise , completed the job..

  2. I have just recently started using Easy Media Creator 7 (The upgrade to Easy CD/DVD Creator 6) from Roxio. This program, along with AnyDVD allows me to copy and burn any DVD I put into it. I can copy movie only or the whole DVD. The quality is exellent and with Flashman's Firmware http://flashman.rpc-1.com/ I can burn Ritex 4x at a blazing 8x on DVD-R's using the Pioneer 107. I can now rip and burn a 3 hour film )Lord Of The Rings in just under 1 hour. Excellent!!!

It does all the other things the previous versions do without the problems. make sure you have the current version of msxml3 available free from the Microsft web site or else some apps within Media center 7 will not work.

Take Note: If you flash your DVD Writer, be sure you read the instructions carefully and change the DVD Drive letter if necessary.

Sounds like ROXIO got it together at last
I remember When DVD burning was released
and they had noproduct for months
it may be too late as nero seems to be the current "bundled" choice by Oems

Thanks for this thred, I've only been burning for a short time. EZ CD Creator came free with my plextor. So everone would agree that I should get Nero... But which version?

  6. Everything I've ever used from Roxio has turned out to be newbie garbage. I got Roxio 6 with my Plextor external DVD burner and it doesn't do half the things Nero can do and the things it does do it does by handcuffing you on your options (often without telling you what it is you cannot do). I've been praying for the demise of Roxio so I can get some quality software when I buy a drive; I guess that may never happen given how well they've marketed themselves.

  7. Bobv ..just go to the Nero site and download the free Nero demo Package 1 and package 2. the Recode 2 in package 2 is what shrinks the movies. You can then convert to full version with a serial number.

All I can say is the Roxio version that was bundled with my Plextor 708A screwed up my computer, thus I am staying clear of anything Roxio. It screwed up my registry where the computer didn't know my burner and rom drive existed and then it also over wrote XP's cd burning function. Anyway after lots of struggles I finally have my computer back. If you don't believe go to Microsoft's knowledge base and type in Roxio and see what pops up.

I tried giving Roxio another chance... upgraded years ago to EZCD Creator. Tried again with EZCD + DVD v6... and again I feel used, abused and ripped off. Roxio has terrible support - IF you can get them. I have never used a product of theirs to satisfaction. What a waste of money.

Stay away from anything stamped Roxio.

But before you can use Nero Recode, you need to buy the DVD Video plug-in and that's an extra $30.
