Splash screens are just first play titles on the DVD. Use an authoring program that supports first play titles, and you are in business. Most authoring packages support this.

    Hi tsantsa,

Just encode your footage, with whatever sound edited in first (before encoding), to DVD compliant MPEG2.

Or... I use TMPGEnc to take a still as the video source and whatever audio you want then encode that to a DVD compliant MPEG2.

Then, as stated already, use the resulting .mpg as the first play track.

  4. If you want something interesting for the splash screen. I used ulead Cool 3D to make some text jump out at you and matched this with the audio.

Then as has been said selected it as first play (MPEG converted).

    Looked good.

If you want to get serious something like adobe after effects will do an amazing job but at the cost of the software and a high learning curve.

Most video editing s/w will give you some effects.
