  1. I have a DVD9 close to 4 hours in play time.
When I use dvd-shrink, I am unable to compress the disk down to DVD5.
The compression is stuck at ~65% and changing to custom values does not help as the slide point is already at it's lowest compression level.

    What gives?

How can I rip this whole DVD to one DVD-R.
Else please point me to a easiest steps needed to rip this DVD9 to 2 DVRRs BUT retaining all the menus etc.

Did this myself last night on the 'Journey 2001' DVD. The first shrink was just a hair over the limit and I didn't want to drop any of the optional features/audio streams.

I did a Deep Analysis on both shrinks. It added some extra time but the results were excellent. And I got to keep the PCM track and the 5.1 track, so no complaints there, either.

  5. Passing it through DVD shrink twice did the trick for me.

The resultant DVD has all the bells and whistles from the original. The Video is alittle jerky occasionally though.

On some cheap players, the jerkyness in more pronounced.

Thnaks to all for pointing out the two pass method.

  6. DVD2one can compress larger movies that Shrink and Recode can not
