How to use MPEG-4 Direct Maker??

Hi everyone,

How do i use MPEG-4 Direct Maker to convert from VCD to a different format?? Or how do i use it to convert from DVD to a different format?? Does this program have any tutorials for it?? If so, will someone please give me some links?? Please reply back. Thanks guys.

I've used this program and I have to say it's absolutely terrible. The interface is confusing and even though I was able to wade through this, it was far more difficult to use than Virtualdub, which is used for converting mpeg to avi. What format do you want to convert to? I can pretty much guarantee that there is freeware available that can accomplish the conversion more efficiently than MPEG-4 Direct Maker.

I wanted to go from VCD to SVCD, Maybe VCD to Divx, DVD to Divx and so on. Could u be able to help me with this??

VCD to SVCD is a bad idea. Normally you want your source file to be superior to your destination. That's the nature of re-encoding. Even if your source is flawless, there will be some loss of quality when converting. Also, there is no all-in-one program that is going to take the place of a lot of reading and learning by trial and error.

If you need help with a particlular problem there are plenty of people here that can help you but you should really take a look at the guides too. That being said, why do want to convert your VCD and will you only be playing it on the PC?

I can't find any guides on MPEG-4 Direct Maker. When i first made this topic i asked was there any guides for that program and if so could someone post me some link for MPEG-4 Direct Maker?? When do i convert my VCD's and no i will not just be playing it on my PC expect for Divx and VCD's. Divx won't play on my DVD Player and VCD's i have a tough time playing them on my Player. Either it won't play at all or it's going to freeze on me. Please reply back. Thanks everyone.
