    Hi Guys

I am using Adobe Premier Pro but have a problem with installed codec it seems. It would seem that after capturing my video from my DV camara after encoding I get a dancing Elecard Logo appearing on the finished m2v file. I probably only installed the codec on a trial basis but now even though I have re registed the codec with Elecard it does not want to go away.

Is there a codec that I can use with Premier that is free and stable, I would have thought that one was supplied by Adobe in the first instance?? As I am new to this I would appriciate some advise on this as I am now in a position to encode some work that has taken me a long time to prepare and do not want it ruined.

    Thanks

    Mike

you can use analog-x DX-Man to completly remove it .. but Adobe Premier Pro uses the main concept encoder -- so not sure why you see elcard (unless its your decoder) , if thats the case ANY mpeg m2v you play back should have this

    Thanks,

Just loaded the DX-Man and removed it from the list, seems to be now ok on any m2v that I have just encoded but previous m2v files will now not import back into Premier, when I try to select the files Premier reports them as being corrupt?? yet they play back ok on Media Player?

Any ideas why this is so

I am using Premier Pro 7, the files were encoded by Premier and saved into a specified directory however, when I import them back to premier they are specified as corrupt!!

Daft thing is though, media player will display them ok. Even though the Elecard Logo has now gone since I uninstalled it could this be why they have become corrupt?

Premier Pro (also) was never designed to edit mpep2 files ...

Premiere Pro is the most finnicky editing program ever developed anyway

So If you look on the forums you will see as BJ_M indicated that you shouldn't re-import M2V streams encoded in PREMIERE

If you must for some reason, there are plug in tools (mpeg marvel for one) that allow MPEG-1 and 2 import

When you import mpeg without the plug-in, premiere must re-render..losing quality on thye way

Seems like you learn new things every day. Daft that a program lets you capture then encode to a given format but then not let you import them back.

I only encoded snippets avi's that I could use, to prepare in the future, some video slides with audio superimposed.

looks like I will have to keep them as avi files until I decide what to do with them in the future (thus use up unesessary drive space).

    What a load of tosh......
