  1. Can somebody help me ;this is the only avi.file that my standalone
Liteon LVD2001 don't want to play.I already shortened its name but still
it wont play.Player says : no cd
The only thing that is different from the other avi files that I burned is that
for the first time I splitted the avi file with 'easy video splitter'.
Could that be the problem and how can I fix it ?
    Hereby info from g.spot

  2. nothing magical about a LVD-2001 not wanting to play the file. Try to do that: wipe the disk with a cloth in a circular motion for about a minute, that disconnect and reconnect the player from the outlet. Then turn off "auto-ISO" feature in the menu. Then try to play the CD. If does not work, try to reburn the cd at a slower speed.

    Hi

My LVD-2001 dous this all the time Sometimes when I fast forward a divx movie repeatidly hiting the fast forward button It skips and the audio goes out of sinc with the video . You have to stop the player restart the disk and then somtimes it refuses to recognise the disc it has just played. I swith off at the off button and wait a few seconds and switch back on again and it reads the disc OK

  5. Now Barry is it normal? Each time I have to turn it off and on, off and on, etc... This is just unaccaptable, we are living in 2004 for God's sake, why do we have to suffer through that!

  6. Absolutic, I did all what you said but no luck.
It says : 'loading avi' after 20 sec I see the 4 zeros like he wants to start but then it jumps to 'stop' and I see the blue screen back.
    Anybody a tip?

Place the cd in the LiteOn, unplug the machine, wait for one minute and plug it in again.
This strange thing is happening to me aswell, I'm not sure if it is a problem with the video cause when I do the unplug trick it runs perfectly, and the second part of the film runs without the unplug trick.
Another strange thing is that sometimes (it really doesn't matter how the film is encoded or what format it is in) the picture freezes and the sound goes on, when I apply the unplug trick it is gone

    Weird but true.

NOOOOOO, never clean a DVD/CD in a circular motion, this is one of the biggest NONO's in the cleaning rules.
When you really need to clean a disc, always wipe from the center outward or the other way around.

  9. THe bottom line is that I am experiencing the same problems as a lot of my friends the player freezes and refuses to play disks. I also don't think the firmware will fix it. Liteon is a very moody machine. I will probably get a different divx player something with ESS VIBRATO II or MTK 1389 chip. LITEON will stay because of its ability to upconvert to 1080i but that is about it.

  10. Thank you Sark for the tip,I tried it but still nothing.
I think it will never play.
Me too I am constantly plugging and unplugging the switch
    of the player.
If I knew that, I would never buy this player.

  11. Suzy the good thing about Liteon 2001 is that it has a high resale value on ebay - you can sell it now and even make profit
