  1. I am trying to run my satellite receiver through my computer and
capture some movies(I have BEV sat). I am using a AIW( but I am not sure of the model # because the computer was given to me) and hooking it up with s-video and audio directly to the sound card. I tried to follow the guides by lordsmurf but am unable to capture at anything higher than
640x240 same in virtualdub I can not set the resolution to 720x480 it only goes as high as ###x240 is this a concern?? I want to put the captured movies onto dvd also. other features in the guide also are differnent then my options the de-interlacing options are greyed out and set to progressive scan. Anyhow I am not having much sucess and am not very happy with the capture using mmc8.8 any help to point me in the right direction will be greatly apreciated, till then I will just keep reading.

other info that may be of help:
the AIW pci card has a conexant fusion 878a chip and came with the long purple cord and box so you don't have to do the hook ups in back of the computer.

when I start the tv in the mmc I get this error
easy look can not be started because of out of date display drivers( is this just because my computer doesn't have a ati graphics card and has an nvidia card?????????

That's a limit of Virtual Dub when using WDM drivers in your system. The only way to capture more that 240 lines in VDub is to use VfW drivers.

Check out a program called Virtual VCR, it's available here. It allows capture resolutions like 720x480 using WDM drivers. I use it as a substitute to VDub. It has some special sync features as well, check it out.
