    Are there any other packages? I've tried NeoDVD but it keeps converting the sound to PCM format.

    What about Canopus Procoder Express. It sells for $59.95. This is the little brother to Canopus Procoder which sells for $500.00. I just purchased this software recently and it's conversion is relatively quick and the conversion results very good. It converted a CBR 10,000kb mpeg2 to VCD format with minimal artifacts.

    Try Mainconcept 1.4, I've found it's quality to be just as good as Tmpgenc and it's a helluva lot faster.
