  1. at the start of my DVDs there are several pic/videos ,stuff like the fbi warning and the THX screen (The Audeance is now Deaf) .
Can i replace any of these with a picture that will stay onscreen for a few seconds or even a small video of my own?
and if so how (and so i can search for answers on my own what is all of this called)

If you use DVD Shrink, you can use Re-Author and Set Start/End Frames to determine what will be shown and what will not be shown.

  3. It's not clear from your post (OP) if ypu wanted to keep the menu, or not. If you do main movie only, follow Tommy's suggestion, if you wanted the menus, you can have a look at the TitleSetBlanker.

  4. sorry for being so unclear , but im not sure what the terms to use are.
what i want to do is this...
i have several DVDs i am going to back up and when i do i dont want the silly FBI warning to show up instead i want to replace that with a picture (i have one i use for my nick at several forums)
how do i go about replacing the warning with my picture (or a video file that just shows that picture)...
ps just the picture is good because i dont know crap about video files
BUT video is good because i can add alittle animation to the picture

    its kinda like a Tag

Thanks i hope this clears it up and sorry for the typing errors my typing is not so great.

  5. it's quite complicated an editing you wish to do... You still didn't specify if you wanted the menus, or not.

    1. back up everything!
    2. identify the .vob file you want to replace. In ideal case, it'll be a separate .VOB, often VTS_01_0.VOB. If it's not a separate .VOB, learn how to use VOBedit.
    3. replace (the file from step 2) with your file, named the same (if it's a .VOB file; if it's not, learn how-to convert it; I can't help with that)
    4. delete all .IFO and .BUP files.
    5. Open IfoEdit. Select (from Bottom bar): "Create IFOs". Browse to your 1st .VOB file and start the process. After IFOs are created,
    6. Select 1st IFO file & Click "Get VTS sectors", bottom bar, IFOedit.
repeat just in case for all IFOs (doing it for 1st one wil automatically fix all)
    7. You're done with a playable thing, but no menus.

    8. Estimate if it was worth it all the work . If not:
use TitleSetBlanker which can just blank it, or settle for it as is.

PS: DVDshrink can also convert it to still pictures, you may try this route, convert to stl picture, then replace with your picture, then follow the above instruction from 4. [have never converted to still pictures myself, so don't know how that works]
