Anyone know if the new sony DCR PC330 has passthrough?

As above, am looking at swapping my IP1 for the PC330 but want this to be used as passthrough function instead of copying to tape then off again.

Thanks for that a great reveiw, but it only mentions that it converts analogue to digital.

What I really wanted to know is can it be done direct through the camera or do you have to record onto the tape then off the tape onto the pc, really meaning you can only do an hour at a time.

That is what passthrough does. No other on your camera I can think of does it. You can write Sony if you don't believe me, or this page from the owner's manual:

Sorry m8y, not that i didnt believe you. Its just I thought that some cameras acted like a capture card and allowed the signal to pass through it rather than be used as a recorder and then a player.

My ignorance, many thanks for your help. I still think I may buy the camera though. Looks a cracker.
