  1. hi guys, my cpu has been recently rebuilt to improve performances... the guy changed the chassis (because of the motherboard) and he was unable to replace my multimedia card (with extra usb's, video in composite and svideo, digital camera cards etc)
    my question is:

is it possible to switch from output video to input video considering that output video works.
Before i had a nVidia WDM Video capture (universal) card, and it seems to be installed even right now. I tried Virtual VCR, it opens correctly but doesn't actually display video in (white screen). Does Video in has to be plugged in the video card or Video out can be used for Video in (i hope someone will understand what i said...). What i want is to capture TV (analogic)
    I have a GeForce4 Ti 4200 with AGP8X video card.
    XP professional, P4 3.06Ghz 1Go RAM

Please don't make fun of me, i dunno anything about hardware and english isn't my native language.
    Cheers

    Etienne

  2. I don't understand but let's clear this up.

First, video in and video out are two completely different things and they can not be interchanged.

What ever cable set up you are using with your source and card, the video out from the source you are capturing from has to be conncected the video in of your capture card.

In your case, you don't need to use the video out at all unless you want to watch something on your TV or if you are transfering to another source.

  3. Ducky - your English is better than that of many native-born.

No, Video-in and Video-out are not switchable, the card must support capture. What kind of "multimedia card" did you have previously? Your description does not match anything I am familiar with. Very odd that it could not be used in your new case. I would bet money that the guy who upgraded your PC is using it right now.

Was your old PC a Sony?
