    Hi!

EAC is the best audio ripper out there compared to other rippers. When normal rippers rip a cd, they 'guess' or 'fill' in the data if they run into trouble.

My question, if i make a backup of a cd using 'on the fly' method or create image to Hard drive then burn to cd, is this cd also 'guessed' or 'filled' up. Does the cd writing software know it's an audio cd and not make a 'perfect' copy or is this copy 'perfect bit to bit'.

    Thanks in advance!

  2. If you are creating an image (ie, an ISO file) of the original, then it doesn't matter to the burner software what it is. It'll just copy the contents exactly as they appeared on the original. Is that what you were asking?

  3. I am not certain, but I believe EAC will keep trying to read the disc until the input buffer is empty, then it will be forced to either guess or bomb. It may depend on whether or not your writer has buffer underrun protection. But all this should be in the EAC help file or preferences dialog.
