  1. Hello

After having unfavorable results with Ridata/Ritek packaged g04 dvd-r discs, I am asking if anyone has used the above two brands with success.

    I have a Cendyne/Pioneer dvr 105 with firmware 1.33.

According to the Supermediastore, the Prodiscs are certified by Pioneer--I cannot find many vendors offering the Prodisc brand and I am not that familiar with the name.

As to the Supermedia printables, they are on sale for $66 for 100--a great price only if the discs work.

So please, if you have experiences with either brand, share yoiur knowledge with the community.

    Thank you

I've got a Sony DRU-510A and have already burned over 40 Ritek G04 DVD-Rs with no problems. I just got a 50-pack of Prodisc DVD-R 4x yesterday. I'll burn one tomorrow and let you know. But I'm sure it'll be great because everyone who has used them posted no problems.

  4. I have burned over 200 of these ( http://store.yahoo.com/yesbuy/prinwhitinpr.html ) 4X inkjet printable DVD-R with my Pioneer 105 burner. All have burned at 4X and not one bad disc ever. If you're planing on printing directly to the discs be aware there is a difference in discs that are "printable" and "Injet Printable).

I burned a Prodisc 4X for the first time today and everything turned out great. I see no difference in quality or compatability compared to the Ritek G04s I was using. I will be getting Prodiscs from now on since they are a much better deal.

  7. I got a 100 Pack of the GRADE A SUPERMEDIA 4X INKJET PRINTABLES.

I tried three of them on two different burners (NEC and PLEXTOR).

I don't have time to finish the scan but here it is at 91%

And please spare the... only buy Taiyo Yuden or Made in Japan or Prodisc comments... I got these by mistake.

  10. i have the same drive dvr-105 w. f/w 1.33 and burned a couple of hundred prodisc s03. the s03 works very well with the drive. also, i use the prodisc r02 for my nec 1100a@1300a and it works great. the nec 1x00 seems to burns + media better. overall prodiscs either + or - works very well for such cheap media. also my benq 822a burns both prodisc s03 and r02 very well (except the s03 from my benq won't play on my samsung player, it plays on everything else i've tried... the pi/po is excellent too.)

What (if any) is the difference in the resulting print quality between the silver and white discs? Does one or the other work any better depending on the printer and/or ink? (I'm using an Epson R300, if any cares....)
    You can't fool me, I'm a moron!

  15. Just bought a batch of injet printable ones from shop4tech. The first one I burned on my TDK 440N DVD burner was a coaster, but after I updated my firmware I haven't had anymore problems. I Definately reccomend them.

UPS is supposed to deliver my 50 pack of matte Prodiscs from RIMA today. (yes, I caved in and gave up my grudge against Prodisc because they are so damn cheap). I have an Optorite 4x burner and will let you know how they came out.

I'm satisfied with Prodisc Inkjet Printables /both white and silver/ so far. I got them from Rima. The white ones are hub printable /inner diameter 23 mm/. Be aware however that the silver surface is very easy to scratch and actually it can be peeled off very easily.
Any comments about 8X Prodisc printables would be greatly appreciated.

    Enjoy!

  18. When I print on the white I use Photo Quality Glossy Film for the Type and for the silver I use Plain Paper, because it needs the extra ink. For each I adjust the Print Color Correction toward the Lighter as needed. The silver has a holographic like look to it. It works for some labels better than others.
