    Hello experts.

I have recently run into a small problem that I can't figure out. I was decoding an avi file in order to make a dvd. I stripped the audio from the avi then used TmpgEnc to make a m2v video file for my dvd.

Everything went well and in the end I had an audio file (ac3) and a video file (m2v)

I then used infoedit and muxed them all together and voila a dvd...

Perfect huh! No! Problem was that the audio file was damaged. Darn so that dvd became a coaster. Here is what I need....

I have since repaired the audio file its perfect now. What I'd like to do if possible is to get the video file from the dvd I made before. Is there a way I can strip the dvd file I made and take the video out to put it back to m2v format? I have the orginal avi but I no longer have the m2v file I made. What I hope to accomplish by all this is to save me the time of decoding the avi again. So that why I'd like to know if there was a way to get my video off the dvd.......

    Your help would be appreciated...........

  3. You bet...

Tmpgenc, Mpeg Tools, Demultiplex, Browse, Files of Type *.*, browse to the Vob file, double click the video stream to multiplex, select save location. Done....

Since you're working with a created DVD it's not copy protected and TMPGEnc can work with the vob file straight off the dvd disk if you like.

If you wanted to use Tmpgenc Dvd Author you could select that VOB file as the video source and your repaired AC-3 audio stream as the audio source and go with it that way. There would be no need to demultiplex that vob. That program can handle vob files as input and a seperate audio stream no problem. This would save you some work. In Author just click 'add dvd video' instead of 'add file' to import the vob file(s) (main movie). After a click or two you will have the opportunity to select your repaired audio instead of the original stream. Very simple to do.

    Good luck.
