I'm using this file conversion in TMPGEnc....With his settins it is going to talk at least a couple of hours to convert a 30 minute recording. Are there any faster options?

Another reason to go another route is because I want to get a bunch of these recordings on one DVD.

Use Motion Search Estimate to speed it up,

He says to set this to the Highest Quality. What does this do?

Takes a lot longer and doesn't make much difference to my eyes.

    Cool..Thanks

Also, He recommends not using TMPGEnc's audio encoder, so I didn't. What should I use for the audio?

From what I've read the "best" setting for quality without taking TOO big of a speed hit is the setting called, "HIGH QUALITY (SLOW)"

The reason for this is that the quality (to the naked human eye) is the same as the HIGHEST QUALITY (VERY SLOW) setting but it doesn't take anywhere near as long.

However this probably will take longer than MOTION ESTIMATE SEARCH (FAST) but many have said this is a poor choice when the source has a mix of slow and fast motion scenes.

As for the audio there is nothing wrong with TMPGEnc Audio Engine EXCEPT for the sampling rate. For that you can link to SSRC and then you will be getting good quality. Again this is only when you need to go from like 44.1k to 48k or something like that.

You can link to SSRC by going to OPTION ... ENVIRONMENTAL SETTING ... AUDIO ENGINE
