  1. when i capture with virtual dub useing the huffyuv codec it comes up with ( avio output parameter incorect) after 30 minutes of capture any one got any ideas. also when i use virtual dub with picvideo mjpeg codec it works ok but when i play back the capture its has pic video on the screen, how do i get this off.

    huffy codec is a lossless codec which means it don't compress so the avi will be big - in other words about 30 mins of video will be too big a file - the file size limit is 4 gigs for all OS but xp and 2000. So you've probably got an error that means the avi file is too big so it has dipped out. I seem to remember a similar error message when I've used this before. If you want to use the huffy you will have to enable multisegment capture which starts a new avi when it gets to a certain size (upto 2040 megs). See the guides on how to do this.
    The pic video codecs give you banners on them cos it is not freeware - you will have to pay or use some other dodgy method of getting a cracked version. Or use div - x codec to compress and then convert it to mpegs - but the output quality will take a hit.
