I'm using the capture utility built into Vegas but am having trouble printing back out to tape.
Here's the situation: For a long time now I've been capping my Hi8 videos to DV with a Canopus ADVC-1394. I've been using Vegas for my capturing, then opening the file in VDub, filtering, and resaving as avi (I'm using the Sony DV codec). The problem is that I've bought a miniDV cam and now when I try to print the filtered file back out to tape there is no audio recorded to the camera! The file plays fine (including audio) in Windows Media Player.
I've attempted to use the Canopus AVI file converter from their website but none of the file options make a difference. As a last resort I tried using DVIO and it dumps to tape with no problem, it just doesn't do camera control.
I've also tried saving a file in vdub without applying filters (just a direct stream copy) and that file prints to tape with audio just fine. Also tried different interleave settings when saving the file in VDub to no avail.
Just wondering if anyone else has run into this and if they found a fix. Thanks in advance.

I have nothing profound to say, so I'll just mention some things I really like (in no particular order): Tivos, Audis, Isuzu Troopers, Canon camcorders, Macs.
