    hey guys,

I am using TMPG DVD Author, and i was following the guides on how to make the basic menus in there. I made it successfully, burned it successfully with nero 6.3... but when I put the dvd in the player, it goes straight to the movie!

I have to physically press "top menu" on the remote for it to bring up the menu that i made.

I only have one clip on there, and I imported a custom picture for a background, and custom text. it all appears fine when i press the button

How do i make the DVD come up with the menu BEFORE it starts playing the clip?

There's an option to show menu first, did you do that?

Some players get angry if there is no FIRSTPLAY sequence. This software does not allow a separate FIRSTPLAY SEQ. That could be it. Just something to keep in mind.

In my player I have to check this or the menu will not display when I insert the disk.

  6. I had the same issue the first time when i was creating a DVD. Second time, when you come to the Menu creation screen, there is drop down on the right hand corner which gives options "Play Movie First" , "Play Menu First" or something of this sort.By default, "Play Movie First" is selected and we usually ignore this. But if you click on the drop down box and select "Play Menu First", it works like a GEM. (I am not sure if the wording are the same)

I have tested this and i have successfully done it.
