I'm aware that DVDSP can create much better video quality for DVD production than iDVD (even the latest version). I don't own DVDSP yet, but I do have Final Cut Pro 4 and Compressor. Can I use Compessor to create a quality better than iDVD's and still burn it using iDVD's menus? Or would I have to find a different burning solution (Sizzle, Toast?). Can iDVD even accept pre-compressed footage, or will it only take DV format?

i don't use idvd but from what i've read, it sounds like you can only give it qt movies, and not already made mpegs.
but you shouldn't have a problem using compressor w/sizzle. toast i think will convert stuff even if its already mpeg, but not sure, again this is from i can gather from what i've read. so i think sizzle would be your best bet, unless you can get dsp.pants on, pants off, pants the floor. -
Toast 6 will author and burn DVDs from Compressor files. I don't believe you can use them with iDVD however. You could check the IDVD discussion group at disucssions.info.apple.com.
If you want a professional-appearing DVD you'll need DVDSP rather than Toast. Toast has minimal menus that make it fine for creating a library of DVDs, but not for impressing clients and customers.
