  1. hi there..
    i have two mpegs and usually i encode with tmpegnc plus to make it standard dvd compliant.
    and after that i author with tmpegnc dvdauthor, however when i try to open this certain mpeg file it says it can not open it
    saying something about framerate and what not being complient with dvd. any reason why it wont open this one mpeg but opens the rest of my mpeg collection??

    Well yeah, what framerate is it? I mean if you get an error/warning message, it may be trying to tell you something.

    More than likely it's a 20 or 15 fps non-standard file.

    this is all a different language to me, any help please
    is there anyway i can go around it i just want to author it to a dvd to watch..

    The frame rate is fine, it's the resolution that's the problem. 480x480 isn't a valid DVD spec resolution. Try using a program called SVCD2DVD.

    480x480 is SVCD. It's not a valid DVD resolution. It's also a FUBAR'd SVCD (the 16:9 DAR is invalid for SVCD, only 4:3 for anything less than full D1).

    You can't Author it without converting the video to 352x480 (closest valid resolution). There are some 'cheats' around to deal with SVCD's.
