Ok.. i want to capture a movie that was originally shot at 24fps Progressive. It is being broadcast in what I would assume would be 29.97fps interlaced. I am capturing realtime mpeg2 using mainconcept using an ADC device. Am I correct in thinking that I should capture this as 29.97 fps and apply IVTC to it to reconstruct the original 24fps progressive stream? If this is correct does anybody know if this can be done with Mainconcept, i can't seem to find this anywhere. And i really hate capturing as AVI and encoding seperately after I've just paid $150 for a codec to do it realtime.
Edit, or should I just capture 29.97fps interlaced and leave it alone considering that's what it is already as... I would love to be able to capture 23.97 and allow more bits to be allocated to each frame, but I don't see how it's possible with mainconcept.
