  1. I tried to capture from the VCR today.

I found that our VCR only has ONE output. There fore anytime I want to capture I have to remove the A/V cables from the Tv to VCR and replace it from My computer to the VCR. Is there any type ofsplitter, or gadget that I can get to eliminate this poroblem, but only have one output work at a time, meaning everytime I watch a VHS it won't come out of my speakers?

    Any help is appreciated.

Usually, these are called A/B switches (switching between two inputs or outputs). Radio Shack will be able to help you out and they are relatively cheap.

Personnally, I have a 4-way switcher, changing between 2 VCRs and a DVD player.

  3. Thanks! Got it working, but now . . .

If I try to capture through the VCR with either Ul;ead 6 or Roxio 6, I get an error.

Ulead says that it couldn't create the project graph and roxio says it's not connected correctly, but if I use windows movie maker 2, it works . . .

Do any of you's know why this will happen? I don't really like WMM2 becuase the quality is kind of crappy, and it's a wmv file.

    Any suggestion are appreciated.

Check your capture settings and experiment with those settings in whatever program used for capture. Try another program to aid in capture. Capturing is always a learning process. Good luck

WINDVR - tha absolute best program i found to work with my winfast tv2000Xp deluxe capture card ...i had the graph problems etc etc , just depends if u want to capture to .AVI or .MPG , its all wide open , and yes is mostly a sharp learning curve , from what i know .AVI is best if u want to add effects and titles change music etc etc and mpeg is best if u just want to cut some stuff out and author it ....but with .WMV and .AVI it can be converted and the crappiness is possibly from the settings , so welcome to the wonderful world of video editing and get toolin'
let us know how u go

  6. I think your best bet is to get a distribution amplifier. Most electronic stores carry these, and they're relatively cheap (under $50 in most cases). They take one input and can split it into 2, 3, 4 or more outputs, while retaining the quality. I have a Radio Shack brand D/A that can split a regular RCA signal to 3 different sources (even though I only use 2), and it works great.
