  1. I have the Sony 4x dual format RW drive. I've backed up several of my five-year old son's movies (for obvious reasons). I use DVD Shrink 2.3, DVD Decrypter and Copy2DVD. Don't know why, but I can't even open the disk with Shrink or read it with Decrypter. It freezes both programs and I have to close them down. The funny thing is that it plays fine in my stand alone. One other thing, it won't even play in my Sony DVD-RW drive.

Any suggestions for me here? I'd really appreciate them.
Software used (until you guys/gals enlighten me):
    DVD Decrypter
    DVD Shrink
    CopyToDVD
    Nero 6
    VCDEasy
    TMPGEnc

  2. sounds like your drive is having a hard time reading the disc.
try using a different dvd-rom drive if you have one.

Finding Nemo is only released in the U.S. on DVD as far as I know. If you are in the UK or Europe it may be a region code issue?
If you are in the U.S....try playing it in your DVD-Rom drive for a while....that simple little trick sometimes solves the problem. Make sure it gets past any kind of "Warning" message while playing it.

"FINDING NEMO" best if you split into 2 discs.

Disc 1 - Menu with Movie only
    Disc 2 - Menu with extra, etc..(optional)

Here's my tools for this Movie:

    1. DVD Decrypter
    2. DVD X COPY (I use v1.5 on this movie)
    3. IfoEdit (to modified to start menu at insert of DVD into root menu)
(JumpSS_VTSM) Jump to Titleset Menu: Title Nr:1, Titleset Nr:1, Menu:root
    4. DVD Shrink (optional on this movie unless you want to compress more, because I want only menu & movie)
    5. I Burn with CloneDVD 1.3.11.2 (sheephead) in this case my RecordNow cause an error..I have to use CloneDVD.

note: Just in case you don't want the 321 warning from DVD X COPY..copy the VIDEO_TS.IFO/VOB/BUP files from your DVD Decrypter files to replace the DVD X COPY files.

Using this method it will fit 100% without losing anything to compression.

If your PC player keeps stalling or won't play try different player software maybe drivers issue. I use PowerDVD so far is one of the best. So far my backup plays in any standalone or PC that I can find with no errors.

I have no problem backing up this movie with DVDShrink 3.x. I don't remember exactly what version since there are so many. My 4 years old nephew watch this movie (dvd-r) almost everyday for months.

Maybe the problem is with your original DVD. Make sure the DVD disc is clean without major scratches. The disc will generally play fine on your standalone, the player can sometime play (skip) over the error but DVDShrink and Decryter won't if they can't read the data perfectly.

I had this problem with The Prince of Egypt, my original copy was too dirty. I had borrowed the same movie/DVD from a friend and I can backup his disc perfectly.
