  1. Is there a way to capture avi files where the background would be transparent. I am trying to capture closed captioning as a avi file, and then mere that captured avi with the corresponding video. The only thing stopping me is that when I try and capture the closed captioning, it saves as an avi with a pink background, but when I originally view that closed captioning, it has no background color. Any ideas on either capturing or editing an avi to get the background to be transparent?

The reason it is pink is because that's the color that Windows uses for the hardware overlay color. If you have Premiere, I remember seeing a checkbox or pulldown list somewhere where you can pick a transparency matte color. I usually use a Black Matte. But I am sure I saw those eye dropper things in the dialog box so you could click on the hot pink color and make that as the transparency matte color. Sorry I couldn't be more exact, but it is very late and I am too lazy and sleepy to load up Premiere and a project just to find out the exact steps. But hey, atleast I let you know it is possible!
Sorry for the half-assed reply, but hey, it's better than nothing, eh?
