I was looking at a Philips DVDR75 at Costco yesterday for $349. Has anyone tried recording from a hacked Apex? Mine can record to VHS without any annoying Macrovision problems. Also, I'm assuming it would only record the actual movie and not the menus, unless there's some trick I haven't heard of. I can always "back up" on the computer, of course....

Yes and it still won't allow you to record the dvd as y9ou are watching it. However, you can record to VHS. Go figure. Actually why would you want to spend two or more hours recording the movie stream when you can just back up the entire DVD with dvd shrink, a dvd burner and your pc in about 1 hour, maybe a bit longer.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD! -
