    i tried to update my firmware but it froze and when i re booted pc it doent recognize my dvd rom or writer

    what can i do to fix it?

    have i done the unthinkable and knackered my dvd writer when i was using the firmware?

    when i disconnect dvd writer the pc recognizes my dvd rom.

    when i connect only dvd writer and put little switch to master it's as dead as a dodo.

    is there anyway to get writer working again?

    Could it just be that you have both drives set to master ?

    its not the switches. problem only happened after i used firmware
    have been on pc help rooms and other forums im pretty sure i've murdered my dvd writer
