I have a 2 GB multiplexed MPEG-1/2 file that I am trying to demux which is starting to concern me. The progress bar on this baby hit 99% after ten minutes and has held steady now for twenty-six hours. What started off as a single 2 gig file is now a 300 meg mp2 audio file and an EIGHT GIG MPEG-1 video file which gives no indication of ever halting its annex of my hard drive.
Is this normal, really? I'm using an 867 G4 and only running about three other mild applications.

There is no "program end code" on the original mpeg and so some demuxers just don't stop! They will fill your HD.
Try another demuxer.SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.
VOB2MPG PRO, Extract mpegs from your DVDs - with you in control!
