That'll put you out but if you're interested in sound masking you might want to check out this program I just found:

    http://www.relaxingsoftware.com/tinnituspro/tinnituspro.htm

You could make your own CDs with white noise (and/or other sounds). I'm interested to see if I can isolate the exact frequency of my ring and do some kind of reverse phase masking or something.

  3. I have Tinnitis which was caused by an ear infection when I was 12 and probably listening to loud music with headphones.Although there is no medical cure I found taking a Tylenol or Ibuprofen before bed helps,Aspirin makes it worse.Listening to soft music helps mask the ringing and keep me from thinking of things I have to do the next day.
Oh yeah,a couple of glasses of wine and horizontal refreshment definately helps.

That's the best medicine. When I'm sick, that's what my parents give me and I feel better in no time.

I think it's because I have tenitis, that helps me sleep. The lack of noise is what keeps me awake.

I think a cool room is also a key to getting to sleep.

My wife b!tches a blue streak about my fan:

you are the only person in the world who has a fan running all night no matter how cold it is outside
Just one more example of how she doesn't know what the heck she is talking about.

    Your standard Tylenol IS paracetamol...

(note: acetominophen (US) = paracetamol (rest of the world))

Tylenol cold and flu preparations: http://www.tylenol.com/products/adult/detail.jhtml?id=tylenol/products/adult/flu.inc are pretty standard stuff as cold and flu preparations go too...

As for codeine, only a very small proportion is metabolised to morphine (10% I think...) Usually, the over the counter stuff has only very small amounts of codeine. For example, in Australia, "Panadeine" only has 8 mg of codeine per tablet while "Panadeine Forte" (prescription required) has 30 mg of codeine per tablet.
