  1. I've got some dvds that come up as 0 kb when I search the disc, and no video_ts file shows either. They copy ok, but I'd rather put them on my hard drive first. Is there a program that can extract or create a file for these?

    great forum!

They wouldnt happen to be those old Divx pay-per-view DVDs that used to be available at Circuit City, would they? The actual video files on those discs were buried in subdirectories of subdirectories filled with junk files and other stuff. No one's had a desire to crack the encryption on those, so theres no extraction tools for them.

Of course, if your discs arent those, ignore this post.

Would it be possible that the items for one reason or another are just invisible!

Try getting info on the video_ts folder?

Just to clear up things, mcmarc's post was originally posted under "DVD to DVDR" on this forum, and was moved here.

The quip about stupid PC users was unwarranted and inaccurate. I take issue as a Mac user. And even if I weren't a Mac user, I would have a lot more manners than taking potshots that don't contribute to a fellow Mac user's questions on a public thread.

  9. I have some DVD-Rs like this also. My husband said that they are missing the hidden pointer to the file directory needed by us Mac users to see stuff. It was probably auithored by a PC user who didn't format it correctly.

I would also love to be able to 'see' these files, but I haven't found a way yet to do say. And, as you say, they copy just fine.
