  1. I have a question on the output of audio on TDA.
I have captured some clips off camcorder (via Sonic MyDVD) in mpeg format.
When i author this via TDA on a DVD - I cannot get sound out from the DVD through my amp.
When i author this via MyDVD - I get sound (PCM) throuugh my amp.
How can i tell TDA to output the sound so that the sound can be passed on digitally to the amp - as the dvd player is connected to the amp via a optical cable only.
    Thanks

  2. what format are you outputting to? unless you have the AC3 plugin for TDA then you are either outputting PCM or MP2 audio. it may just be that your DVD player doesn't support MP2 audio as its not part of the DVD Standard.

  3. I do not have the AC3 plugin. Im using the default settings in TDA. How do i get the audio of the clips to output to PCM ? Can PCM be passed via a optical cable ?
What im ultimatley trying to achieve is the ability to play a DVD and listen to the sound via my AMP which is connected to the DVD via optical. So im guessing that the sound needs to be in a format that can be passed from the DVD player (vi optical) to the AMP.
In Sonic MyDVD - it seems to do this as default and the out is in PCM so i get sound output via my amp. How do i achive the same via TDA.
    Thanks

  4. t3t3, I ran into same audio problem when playing with TDA a while back. Two possible ways to solve this problem:

1 - Change the audio output type in your DVD player. In my case I changed my Pioneer's from Dolby Digital/PCM to PCM only. But that sucked because I then had to change it back and forth when watching DD movies.

2 - If your MyDVD 4.x came with a Sony RW drive, you can do a free upgrade to 5.2X LE which comes with DD encoding. I did and I love it.
